What Time Is It?

Easy to know unless you ask American.

The world runs on 24 hours per day. USA does too, but it pretends it does not. It runs on some hours but nobody knows what they are. And here is a proof of this national mistake.

Say you meet someone around early evening and you ask:

“Hey buddy, what time is it?”

And “helpful” person answers with the typical wrong answer.

“Well buddy, it’s six pee ehm or as you people like to hear, it is eighteen hundred.”

Sounds intelligent or cute, but it is totally wrong. It is never eighteen hundred of anything, it could be eighteen with no hundreds. You see, when you say eighteen hundred hours, you could have said 75 days. Because 1800 / 24 = 75.

So if you say it is six, or it is eighteen, you are correct. But eighteen hundred? Very long time and very mathematical speech. Say you go somewhere but will be back in a week – then you could say I’ll be back in a week or in one sixty eight! If you insist. And if you don’t go for a week but for 2 and half months, then you can say, “and I’ll be back in eighteen hundred.”

It is currently eighteen and 4 minutes 😆
