Sydney to Cairns by Train

Australia is supposedly behind. It is not developed, not modern, no business or technology, no smart people, just a few wild animals and people surfing. While United States rules the world, it is the smartest county, maybe even democracy and way above everybody else.

But in Australia people can take a nice train from Sydney to Cairns, about 1500 miles. Well, they are actual modern country, so 2400 km, they don’t use silly units like miles. Speedy and sleeper train, south to north across its continent and it takes 4 days to make it.

You might be wondering, what is 1500 miles in our USA to compare it with, I am sure we can handle it too and easy. Well, in theory, yes. If you took a train from New York to Denver in Colorado, that would be about the same distance. Of course we are so ahead of the rest of this world that we do not have such direct train, but we could take a ride to Chicago, switch the train and then continue west towards California not to forget to leave the train in Denver.

Of course we could take a plane, much faster and comfortable. As long as you like tiny small seats you can’t fit in, lousy no-food and “security” even Russians would be ashamed of. But one day, perhaps, we shall have what others have had for century, nice functional trains. In the meantime, you would need to visit Australia. Or Europe. Or China. Or Japan. Heck, with Chinese help, even Africa may be doing well and soon.
